How to Transfer Audio From MacBook to HomePod – Guide

You don’t need an iOS device to enjoy music from services like Spotify on your HomePod - a Mac will do. With AirPlay, you can transfer audio from iTunes or any other source on your Mac to the HomePod, as long as both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

To stream AirPlay sound to a Mac’s HomePod, users must first enable audio settings in the menu bar. Without this step, the process cannot be completed.

Make sure the volume is turned on in the menu bar

Mac users can access their System Preferences by opening the Apple menu and selecting “System Preferences.”

Choose the “Output” tab to complete the task.

Ensure the volume setting in your menu bar is visible by ticking the “Show volume in menu bar” box.

Selecting HomePod as an Audio Output Device in the Menu Bar

Users can access the volume control by clicking on the volume button in the menu bar.

Choose the HomePod labeled for the room you’re in from the “Output Device” list. In my case, that’s Office 2, as I have two AirPlay devices in my office.

iTunes AirPlaying

Listeners can now access their favorite tunes from Apple Music or their own music library.

Users of iTunes can access the program’s features by clicking on its icon.

Tap the HomePod icon.
