How to stack/unstack Icons in Windows 11 Taskbar – Guide

Windows 11 users can save space on their taskbar by stacking notification icons in two or three rows. This guide will show you how to do it.

Access Registry Editor by launching regedit.exe.

Go to the left pane of Registry Editor and locate the key.

Windows users can access the “StuckRects3” feature in the “Explorer” folder of the “CurrentVersion” folder in the “Microsoft” folder of the “Software” folder in their HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry.

Double-clicking the “Settings” binary value in the StruckRects3 key’s right pane will allow you to make changes.

Stack or unstack items as desired.

Taskbar icons can now be stacked in the corner, allowing users to view notifications at a glance.

Position the cursor to the left of the highlighted value in column 28 and row FE, then press Del and type either 02 (two icons stacked high) or 03 (three icons stacked high).

Tap OK and proceed to step 7.

Windows 10 users can now display individual notification icons in the corner of their taskbar, rather than having them all stacked together.

The default setting is in effect.

The cursor should be placed to the left of the highlighted yellow value in column 28, row FE. Press the Del key and type 01.

Tap OK and proceed to step 7.

To resolve sign-up issues, restart the explorer process, log out and back in, or restart your computer.

Once you’re done, Registry Editor can be shut.
