How to Reset Microsoft Edge Browser – Guide

Microsoft is introducing a range of new features to Windows 10, including a revamped Start menu, Cortana, universal apps and Settings as the central place to configure the OS. Additionally, Microsoft Edge will replace Internet Explorer as the default browser.

Microsoft has unveiled a new browser, Edge, with a streamlined design that puts web content front and center. Like Chrome and Firefox, Edge will offer extensions, web notes, tab views, Cortana integration and more to give users an enhanced browsing experience.

How to reset Microsoft Edge

To reset Microsoft Edge, users can either reset their settings or clear their data - or both if they wish to start from scratch. Those who want to keep some data can opt for just one of the two options. Resetting settings is the first step.

Navigate to the “Settings” menu in Microsoft Edge by clicking the three dots in the upper-right corner of your screen.

Select “Settings” from the drop-down menu.

To reset your settings, click the “Reset Settings” tab on the left sidebar.

Click the “Restore settings to their default values” option, the only one available on the page.

When you restart your device, a prompt will appear informing you of the data that will be deleted. To complete the process, click “Restart”.

You can delete your browsing history and cached data to protect your privacy.

Microsoft Edge, the web browser from Microsoft, is now available for both Mac and PC users.

To access settings, click the three dots in the upper right corner.

Go to “Settings” and select the “Privacy and Services” tab.

To clear your browsing data, open the page and click “Choose what to clear” in the “Clear browsing data” section.

A pop-up window with checkboxes will appear, with “Browsing History”, “Download History”, “Cookies and Saved Site Data” and “Cached Data and Files” pre-selected. Users can also clear passwords, auto-fill forms and more. To reset the browser completely, uncheck all boxes.

Press “Clear Now” to delete chosen information.
