People are wondering how to withdraw money from PayPal using VMI. The answer is simple: it can be done easily and quickly.

Can students withdraw from Virginia Military Institute (VMI)? How much does it cost, and are there any additional fees?

To allay fears about online transactions, I recently made a purchase to demonstrate the process. Here, I detail the steps taken, currency used and any additional fees incurred.

Transfer from PayPal to VMI bank account

On March 27, 2007, $500 was transferred from PayPal to a VMI bank account with no additional fees.

Receive money on VMI bank account

I transferred $500 to VMI via PayPal on the 27th, and received the full amount of $498 three days later, with a transaction fee of $2.

The exchange rate

The US Dollar/Ringgit Malaysia exchange rate remains at 3.527, despite other banks dropping to 3.4. It’s important to check the currency conversion rate before making any transactions, as it can make a difference of up to RM1756 in this case.

Know the costs, schedule your admission

Withdrawing cash from an ATM can be costly, so it’s important to plan ahead. Each transaction and request for money will incur a fee, and you must have at least $10 in your account. If this is your first withdrawal, you are eligible for up to $488 (or approximately RM1721). To save on costs, plan how much you need to withdraw in advance.

Withdrawing RM1500 from your account will leave you with approximately RM201 after a $5/RM18 transaction fee. Subsequent transactions will incur an additional fee, so it’s best to withdraw only RM150, leaving you with around RM33 in your account.

It is not advisable to withdraw a small amount, such as RM150, due to standard transaction fees. It is recommended to leave the money in the VMI Bank account until the next transaction. Note: Maybank allows RM1500 per shot, but it is unclear if RHB or CIMB do.

Summary

You can transfer $500 from PayPal to your VMI Bank Account, minus a $2 transaction fee, leaving you with $498. If you need at least $10 in your bank account, you can withdraw up to $488. Each withdrawal costs an additional $5, so you will have a total of $483 to withdraw. This amount is equivalent to RM1703 when converted.

Retiring should be done in bulk to save money, as each transaction will cost $5 or RM18.
