Yahoo’s presence on the web has been around since the early days, and I was surprised to find out it still exists when someone asked me how to transfer emails from Yahoo to Gmail. My experience writing an article about forwarding Outlook emails made them think I could help with Yahoo too.
Yippee Mail, launched in 1997, offered email and other services to complement the web services of its parent company. Now owned by Verizon, Yippee Mail has lost much of its original luster and is no longer the go-to email provider it once was.
How to forward email from yahoo to gmail
Navigate to Yahoo Mail’s settings by clicking the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the page.
When the browser window is sufficiently wide, the gear icon will be labeled “Settings”.
Access additional settings by clicking “More Settings.”
To access mailboxes, click on the left pane.
To access a Yahoo email account and enable forwarding, select it from the “Mailbox List” menu.
To forward your Yahoo email, simply enter the address you want it sent to and click “Verify.”
Visit the account you’re forwarding your emails to and look out for a confirmation email from Yahoo. It’ll ask if you want to proceed with the forwarding.
Yahoo Mail now requires users to confirm they want to forward emails before doing so, protecting recipients from unwanted messages sent maliciously or accidentally.
