Guide: Use Text Replacement on Mac – Guide
Apple’s iPhones and iPads require more features to make typing easier, as their on-screen keyboards are less user-friendly than physical buttons. Despite the different technology, the need remains the same.
Macs offer a built-in feature, text replacement, that makes it easier to type words and numbers correctly. Windows users must purchase third-party apps to achieve the same result, but these may not work in all situations.
How to use text shortcuts on Mac for fast typing
Many apps allow users to create text shortcuts that automatically replace certain words or symbols with complete sentences. To do this, simply set up the shortcut in your keyboard settings and use it as you type on your Mac.
To access System Preferences on a Mac, click the Apple menu in the upper-left corner.
Go to the Text tab in Click Keyboard to customize your typing experience.
Click the “Add” button in the lower left corner. Then, type the text you want to replace in the “Replace” column and its replacement in the “With” column.
Tap a text shortcut and it will be replaced with the full sentence you saved.
