How to cut a video on Mac using QuickTime Player

QuickTime Player can be launched by users.

To locate QuickTime, users can search for it with Spotlight or open the Finder app in their Dock and select “Applications” from the left-hand menu.

To open a video file on your Mac, launch QuickTime and select “Open File…” from the File menu.

To edit a video, select “Edit” from the top menu.

Select “Cut” from the drop-down menu or press “command” and “T” on your keyboard to complete the task.

Trim your video by dragging the yellow handles to select the desired duration - everything inside will stay, while anything outside will be cut.

Cropping your video is easy: simply select “Crop” on the right and preview your progress with the play icon.
