How to Disable Peek in Windows 10 PC – Guide

With Show Desktop or Aero Peek, you can quickly access your Windows 10/8/7 desktop without having to close all open windows. By making all open windows transparent, the feature allows users to “peek” behind them and access gadgets or shortcuts. To use it, simply move the cursor to the right in the system tray and keep it there, or press Win + Space. If you don’t want to use this feature, you can easily turn it off.

Windows 7 users can quickly view their desktop without minimizing open windows by hovering the mouse over the far right of the taskbar. All open windows will become transparent, allowing a peek at the desktop before returning to their previous state when the mouse is moved away.

Users can access their system settings by right-clicking the Start button in the lower left corner of their screen and selecting System from the menu.

To access System Protection, click the link on the left side of the page.

Click ‘Advanced’ in the system properties window, then select ‘Settings’ under Performance.

By default, Visual Effects’ Enable Peek feature is enabled. To turn it off, uncheck the box and click OK to save your changes.
