How to Disable Air­plane Mode in your Dell Laptop – Guide

If you’re having trouble connecting to a WiFi network on your Dell laptop running Windows 7, 8, or 10, it may be because airplane mode is enabled. Here’s how to turn it off.

Disable Airplane Mode on your Dell Laptop

From the Action Center

Press the Windows logo + A key on your Dell keyboard to open the action center. Alternatively, you can access it by clicking the message-moon icon in the lower right corner of your screen.

The action center will reveal all your wireless communications, including airplane mode.

Tap the airplane icon ✈ to enable or disable airplane mode.

WiFi notification

To access the toolbar on a Dell laptop, go to the bottom right corner of the screen.

To access WiFi, click the wireless logo in the toolbar. If it’s not visible, click the up arrow to reveal additional tools.

Clicking the toolbar reveals a pop up with WiFi, airplane mode and Mobile Access points (on some Dell laptops).

Tap the airplane icon ✈ to toggle airplane mode.

In Windows settings

Press the Windows logo key + I to open your settings, or access them from the Windows bar.

Users can select their network and internet connection in the settings menu.

To turn on Airplane mode, navigate to the left side of your device.

Airplane mode can be toggled on or off, allowing users to control their device’s connection to the outside world.

Locating the airplane mode key on your keyboard is easy: simply check the F keys at the top of your keyboard for one with an airplane symbol.

Press one of the F keys to quickly toggle airplane mode.
