How to create 3D creations with the help of Paint 3D – Guide

Microsoft’s Paint 3D app, released with the Windows 10 Creators Update last year, is now playing an even bigger role in the Creators Update. It offers users a range of tools for 2D, 3D and mixed reality content creation. Check out our index links to explore all that Paint 3D has to offer!

Textures offer a great illustration of how something can be transformed from simple to complex. By taking a cylinder and making it look like a tree stump, we can see how similar yet distinct the two objects are.

Create a new project by opening 3D Paint and pressing New.

To get started, click the 3D shapes icon in the top menu and select an object from the sidebar to place on your board. You can also add artwork from a previous project. Check out our tutorial for more information.

To add a sticker to your photo, click the circular icon at the top of the menu bar that appears to be peeling away from its surface.

To access the texture menu, click the icon to the right of the smiley face in the sidebar.

Users can apply textures to objects by double-clicking.

Grab any corner of the texture to resize it and fit it to the object. You can also rotate or flip it for a different angle.
