Mac users can access System Preferences by clicking the Apple logo.
To ensure your Apple TV is connected, click the drop-down menu at the bottom of the window and select it.
Enter the four-digit code displayed on your TV into the AirPlay Device Password window to mirror your MacBook screen onto your TV.
