How To Add Audio and Video Files on iWork Keynote Presentations – Guide

Adding music and videos to your Keynote presentations can help make them stand out. We’ve previously discussed the basics of Apple’s presentation tool, as well as shared some tips. Now, we’re exploring two more ways to improve your presentations.

Let’s explore how to do this.

Add music or any audio file to the Keynote presentation

To access your music and audio files, click the Media button on the Keynote toolbar in the upper right corner of the screen. Then, double-click any file in the Audio tab to view it.

To add audio to your Keynote presentation, click the Inspector button on the toolbar, then select the Audio tab in the Document inspector. This will open both the media browser and Inspector, allowing you to choose and add audio.

To add music to your presentation, simply drag a song or audio file from the media browser to the soundtrack box in the Inspector panel. This will make it the soundtrack of your entire presentation.

If you want a song to play only during a certain part of your presentation, or while a specific slide is displayed, drag the audio file from the media browser directly onto that slide.

You can customize your song’s playback with the Inspector panel: adjust start and end points, and choose whether it will repeat or not.

Adding video to your main presentation

The media browser simplifies the process of adding videos to Keynote presentations, making it a breeze.

To access a variety of fonts for movie files on your Mac, open the media browser and select the Movies tab.

Adding video to your presentation is easy: just drag the file onto any slide and adjust the size and position. You can also use the QuickTime section of the Inspector to customize playback length.

Double-clicking a video file in your Keynote presentation allows you to view it at any time during the creation process.

Apply these tips to your Keynote presentations and you’ll see a dramatic improvement that will make them stand out.
