SharePlay now supports a range of streaming services, including Apple TV, Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max, Showtime, Paramount+, MUBI and Pluto TV. How to Create a Watch Party on FaceTime
To create a FaceTime clock party, use SharePlay. Here’s how:
New users of Apple’s FaceTime app on iPhone or iPad should create an Apple ID before running the app, which can be found on the Home screen.
Invite your friends to join you for a group video call with just one tap of the new FaceTime button. Easily add them using their phone numbers, emails or names.
Tap the Create Link button to generate a SharePlay watch group link.
Tap the green i button next to the shareable FaceTime link in the Upcoming section of your screen to generate a watch party link.
Users can quickly and easily share an invite link with their friends and family by selecting from a range of messaging apps, including Messaging, WhatsApp, Twitter, Mail, Facebook, iMessage and any other supported app.
Make sure to schedule the movie and share the link with your friends so they can join the watch group. Once they’ve clicked on it, hit the Check button on your device to let them in.
Launch your video streaming app of choice and pick a movie to watch together. Make sure it’s supported by FaceTime SharePlay, then grab the popcorn and enjoy the show in perfect sync.
