How to schedule a text message on iPhone and Android devices – Guide

You can send a text message at the right time, even if you don’t have the chance to do it right away. Android users can use their default SMS app to schedule a text, while iPhone users may need to use a workaround.

Schedule text messages on Android

Tap the Messaging app on your phone to start a chat or continue an existing one.

Press and hold the submit button to open a ‘Schedule Shipment’ window, where you can select a time to send your message.

You can schedule when your message will be sent by using the date and time picker.

Users can now schedule messages to be sent at a later time by clicking the clock icon on the submission screen. This will open a window allowing them to select when they want their message to be sent. Once they have chosen a time, clicking the “Send” button will program the message for delivery.

You can customize scheduled messages by clicking the clock icon next to them. This allows you to update the message text or adjust the schedule, giving you more control over your communications.

Users have the option to send their message right away or delete it altogether.

Sending messages on Android just got easier: with the Messaging app, users can now schedule texts to be sent at a later time. However, an internet connection is required for this feature to work.

Schedule text messages on iPhone

If your iPhone is running iOS 13 or later, the Shortcuts app is already installed. For earlier versions, you’ll need to download it from the App Store.

Tap the Create Personal Automation button on the Automation tab, and select ‘Time of day’ to set a preferred time for sending messages.

To schedule a message to be sent monthly, select the Monthly option in Repeat, choose the desired date and tap Next in the upper right corner.

Tap the Add Action button on the next screen, then select Apps from the menu.

To send a message, tap the Messaging app and select the Send message option.

Before sending your message, review the details and make sure the Message and Recipient fields are correct. Click Next, then Done to send.

Tap on message details to edit them.

The iPhone can be programmed to automatically send a message on a specific date each month, but this automation comes with a caveat.

Ensure you delete your automation after sending a message - simply swipe right to left on the automation to do so.

The iPhone’s programmed messages are sent without issue, according to the method.
