Guide: Playing PSP Games on Android – Guide

You can now play Play Station Portable games on your Android device. We’ll show you how, so read on to find out more.

With over a billion Android users, many of whom enjoy gaming on their devices, it’s now possible to play Play Station Portable (PSP) games on your Android mobile. Emulators specifically designed for this purpose allow Android smartphones to run PSP games. To get started, check out the tutorial below.

Step 1- Download a game ROM

Navigating copyright and intellectual property issues, downloading ROMs is a legal gray area. We can’t link to specific ROMs or download sites, but searching for PSP games on Google using sites like Emuparadise or CoolROM is allowed.

Before downloading a game, ensure you have the correct physical copy and read the instructions carefully. Check the download link on the website and monitor progress in your device’s status bar and notification tray. Once downloaded, verify that the file size matches what was posted online before proceeding.

Step 2 – Extract the game file

Downloading the game will give you access to the ISO file, but only after extracting the RAR, 7Z, ZIP or other compressed file.

Navigate to the Download folder and tap it to access its contents.

Tap the game file to tick the box.

Tap the file again to ensure it is properly downloaded.

Tap the “Extract” button again.

Once the extraction is done, check the files inside for any other zipped files that need to be extracted. If you find one, extract it too. Once you’ve seen the ISO file, you can close Easy Unrar.

Step 3 – Start the game

Now that the hard work is done, it’s time to have some fun! UltraPSP users can open the keyboard control symbol and select “Games” to access their download folder. From there, they can view their selections in either grid or list format. To play a game, simply tap on its title (not the RAR or ZIP file) in one of the larger green boxes (folders).

To access a game, simply unzip the file and tap the game title folder until you see the cover image. Then, tap the image to launch the game.

Step 4 – Play!

After hours of hard work, you can now reap the rewards: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is running smoothly on your device. The controls are integrated into the game, as with all other video game console emulators. It may take some time to get used to, but you can always connect a PS4 controller to your phone or tablet if needed.
